During the pilot program, the Cumberland Hopper self-driving shuttle will operate along two routes, connecting key destinations as part of a "[large] mobility project” in development by the Cumberland CID called the Cumberland Sweep.
The Cumberland CID says the eight-month pilot program will connect visitors, residents, and everyone else to destinations around Cobb Galleria and to The Battery.

The free pilot program began on July 25 and will operate through March 2024.

The pilot program will provide CCID the information collection, performance review, and users' opinions to further develop the long-term Cumberland Sweep mobility plan which will be worked on over the next several years.
The Sweep is a three-mile plus road of car-free walking and biking lanes designed to connect key destinations all over the main parts of the Cumberland CID.

With the Cumberland Sweep, the business owners, residents, and visitors can easily cross the Cumberland area, accessing important locations such as The Battery Atlanta, Truist Park, Cumberland Mall, Cobb Galleria Centre, Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, and the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area (CRNRA), while helping the environment and improving traffic flow.
