A fifth [.fow1-1]inmate[.fow1-1] is dead at the Fulton County Jail after a stabbing.

Natalie Ammons of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office told the Associated Press/GPB News in an email that the [.fow1-3]investigation[.fow1-3] into the [.fow1-2]stabbing[.fow1-2] at the main jail was “active.” Two other inmates were also injured in the [.fow1-2]stabbing[.fow1-2] [.fow1-4]incident[.fow1-4].

Last Thursday’s death is the fifth to happen at the jail in just over a month.

The U.S. Department of Justice opened an [.fow1-3]investigation[.fow1-3] into jail conditions after the death of Lashawn Thompson last year. He was found covered in bedbugs in his [.fow1-5]cell[.fow1-5].

According to AP, Samuel Lawrence, 34, died on Saturday, August 25th, at Grady Memorial Hospital after he was found not moving in his [.fow1-5]cell[.fow1-5] at the jail.

The other three people who died in July include 66-year-old Alexander Hawkins, 34-year-old Christopher Smith, and 40-year-old Montay Stinson.
